Morning Kids Club sample schedule
Times are based on AAPS bell times; the schedule may differ slightly at other schools.

Snack/Choice begins
7:30am		 breakfastWe serve a nutritious snack including 2 food groups and 100% juice each day.  All snacks are nut free.

Choice time activities include board and card games, arts and crafts activities, books to read, and blocks, Legos etc. from the manipulatives cart. All of these things are easily accessible to children to use at any time.
Gym opens
8:00am		 A staff person takes children to the gym to play organized games or free time. This is a choice; not all kids have to go. We have our own sports equipment for kids to choose from (balls, hula hoops, jump ropes etc.)
Last Call for Snack/ Snack & Gym close
8:40am		 Any children who want snack must eat before this time. All kids come back from the gym.
Clean up/Get ready for school
8:40-8:48am		 We clean up and help the children get ready to go to their classes.
To school
8:48am		 Children go to their classrooms; kindergartners are escorted to their classes.

A staff person escorts all kindergarteners from their classrooms to Kids Club.

A staff person greets the children at the door and takes attendance as they enter the program.

We offer a staff directed art and science activity each day. Children to not have to participate if they choose not to.

Gym or outside opens
4:00pm		 Any children who want snack must eat before this time.

Announcements
Club meetings begin
4:00pm		 art projectAll children have the opportunity to sign up for new clubs. Clubs are scheduled ahead of time, have a staff member to coordinate, and usually meet once each week for 6-8 weeks. Only children who chose to sign up for the clubs may attend club meetings.
Staff-directed activities close
5:00pm		 Any child who wants to participate must do so before this time.
     
Clean up/Literacy time
5:30pm		 We clean up and play quiet games which focus on literacy and math.
Close
6:00pm		 All children have been picked up.
